Gold Wing Management Inc is the consulting entity I established to operate as an independent contractor. Through it, I was engaged by Apiary Investment Fund to lead development of their Forex trading platform — the most substantial software engineering engagement of my early career.

Role & Responsibilities​

  • Led a team of 5 engineers to architect and deliver a production Forex trading platform from the ground up, taking the system from initial design through to live deployment.
  • Designed the backend API and financial data schema for tick, candlestick, order, and trade storage, optimized for high-frequency read/write workloads across multiple currency pairs.
  • Built a WebSocket server delivering real-time market data and order updates to ReactJS trading clients.
  • Deployed and scaled the platform on Kubernetes across bare-metal servers running Proxmox, hosting all database services on self-managed infrastructure.
  • Implemented the ReactJS trading interface using TradingView's charting library, delivering professional-grade charting, order entry, and position management tools.
  • Secured the platform end-to-end using OAuth 2.0 and JWT-based authentication and authorization.

About Apiary Investment Fund​

Apiary Investment Fund was a Utah-based firm that trained retail traders in Forex markets and provided funded trading accounts. Building their platform required delivering production-quality trading infrastructure for a live user base, with real capital at stake.

Takeaway​

Leading this project from scratch — owning architecture, team management, backend systems, frontend delivery, and infrastructure — laid the foundation for everything I've built since. The experience of shipping a production trading platform end-to-end is what directly enabled Arden Charts.
